Cumbria expansion continues
The latest sites to join the Gulf fraternity in Cumbria.
P.V. Dobson & Sons in Levens and Rayrigg Motors, Windermere, complete a six-fold increase in Gulf branded forecourts in the region in just three years.
“When I joined the company three years ago, there was only one Gulf forecourt in Cumbria,” explains Gulf Area Manager Rick Edmondson. “Now we have six, with another two in the Kendal area coming on stream in the next few months. Dobsons and Rayrigg Motors are both now in full swing and it’s clear that other independent dealers in the region are recognising the potential.”
“Some forecourts may be small in terms of annual fuel turnover, but this doesn’t make them any less important to the local community,” continues Rick. “I often visit non-Gulf supplied sites where the dealer is concerned about the future of the businessand their family’s livelihood because, with the major oil companies withdrawing from the area, they are not receiving continuity of service.”
P.V. Dobson & Sons made the switch to Gulf following ten years with Texaco; “We were attracted to the brand profile that Gulf offers,” explains General Manager Chris Hammond, “and being primarily a provider to the village community it was important to us to work with a fuel supplier that understands local markets and can provide the support that we need.”
