Scotland favours the brand
Gulf excelling north of the border
From the Scottish borders to the Highlands and Islands, the distinctive blue and orange colours are becoming a feature of the landscape as more and more service stations switch to the Gulf brand.
“In the past 18 months we have achieved significant gains and in some areas, such as Perthshire, we are the dominant supplier.” explains Area Regional Manager, Greig Dickson.
Recent signings include Stracathro Services, a motorway-style service station pumping 20 million litres a year, Lix Toll at Killin and Deanston Filling Station at Doune, a sought-after location that was secured from Shell.
“The Gulf brand has always enjoyed a positive reputation in Scotland and dealers know that we are ready to help them grow their business,” continues Greig. “Gulf offers much greater flexibility than many of its competitors and is supported by a strong distribution network across Scotland.”
“Just as satisfying as the new business we have gained is the large number of existing customers re-signing for a further five years.”
One of those is the strategically important Green Welly Stop (pictured), situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the British Isles on the A82 at Tyndrum, Perthshire. Its name comes from the stock of Wellington boots within the site’s large specialist outdoor clothing and equipment shop. An impressive Gulf-branded filling station is just part of the enterprise which also includes a restaurant and whisky and gift shop and is one of the largest employers in the area with 85 staff.
