Retail volume doubles in Scotland
Gulf continues to make strides north of the border
In the past 12 months, Gulf’s dealer network in Scotland has doubled its annual sales to over 80 million litres. A total of forty-four branded filling stations now extend from the Shetlands to the borders, including the recent signing of two additional Co-op supermarkets at Nairn and Broadford and former Esso sites at Thurso and Wick.
The strategic decision taken by Gulf to invest in the North, including low volume outlets serving remote villages, has been welcomed by Scottish dealers and the communities they serve.
The recent signing of the landmark site, Lix Toll, situated at Killin on the junction of the A85 and A827, was swiftly followed by two forecourts in the Highlands operated by Dunnets, a Ford main dealership. Gulf has strengthened its position in the borders and the central belt, as emphasised by the recent signing of Stracathro, a motorway-style service station pumping 20 million litres a year and Deanston Filling Station at Doune, a sought-after location secured from Shell. It brings the total number of dealers joining Gulf in the past year to 20, the next milestone of 100 million litres looks just months away.
