Gulf-sponsored bike comes to Santa Pod
Following an impressive start to the 2011 FIM / UEM European Drag Racing Championship, Ian King and the 1500 horse-power Gulf Racing Top Fuel Motorcycle are back on English soil this Bank Holiday weekend looking to take top honours again.
Santa Pod Raceway, Northamptonshire is home to one of the fastest tracks In Europe, which should favour King – powered by Gulf’s premium range of lubricants and gear oils – after he posted a 6.57 second run at over 200mph on the notoriously tricky Kunmadaras track in Hungary last time out.
“The partnership between King Racing and Gulf has already shown its huge potential this year,” comments Keith Jewers, Director, Gulf Retail. “We hope Santa Pod will be the perfect stage for Ian to continue a wonderful start to the 2011 Championship.”
The meet gets underway on Friday 27th May, running through to Bank Holiday Monday. Dubbed ‘The Main Event’, the hugely popular, televised extravaganza is one of Santa Pod's most prestigious drag race meets.
