Going the extra mile
Gulf Retail to the rescue in Scotland.
In the midst of the Grangemouth strike chaos, Gulf Retail came to the rescue of hundreds of Scottish motorists with a special delivery of fuel to Girvans of Aberfeldy in Perthshire and Great Glen service station at Fort Augustus. The fuel was uplifted from a depot on the Thames and was driven 630 miles by Dave Lemaitre of Sucklings Transport.
“Dave has delivered fuel to Gulf forecourts in Scotland during the summer in previous years, but we called in a big favour this time,” explains Paul Bailey, Gulf Retail’s Area Manager for Scotland. “We were determined to keep the fuel supply going for our loyal customers, and Dave even arrived with a smile on his face after his epic journey and the torrential rain! This effort demonstrated that Gulf will go the extra mile and it was appreciated by both the dealers and the local community.”
