New statistics outline industry trends
A new report commissioned by RMI Petrol puts the average volume of fuel sales at 2.25mlpa, with annual shop sales at £400,000."In general, our sites are achieving turnover significantly above the national average, many in excess of £1million per annum" explains Keith Jewers, Director, Gulf Retail. "Forecourt operators have consistently seen their incomes rise when working with Gulf's specialist shop consultancy Instore Profits."
The report, published in April, has warned that many forecourts are falling short of the national average and at least 5% of UK petrol stations could face closure by 2015.
