Windermere Service Station
When Rohan Xavier took ownership of Windermere Service Station, he made his immediate priority renewing the site’s fuel agreement with Gulf Retail.
This was preceded by a revitalisation of the business in the form of a shop refit and the introduction of the Londis brand. The work is now complete and weekly turnover has increased from £5,000 to £9,000 with profits doubling.
"We pump around 1.2 million litres a year, our site is situated in Windermere Town Centre and serves a large local community as well as tourist traffic." explains Xavier. "With Gulf's help we have transformed the look and feel of the shop and it is now much more customer friendly."
Gulf was able to assist the new owner in securing competitive external finance to undertake the refit, introduce a Torex back office system and utilise its award-winning in-store consultancy programme to secure an off-license.
"We introduced the Londis brand to Rohan and were able to secure around £3,000 worth of gantry units free of charge and save £12k on the refit," comments Tony Bailey, Gulf's shop consultant. "That saving covered the entire cost of the till and back office systems. We are now developing the site's off license and expect it to boost sales by a further 15%."
