McCreadies
McCreadies in Layermarney, Essex, made the switch from Q8 to Gulf in February 2007.
“I had been thinking about changing for a number of years,” explains Bob Collins, Owner and Manager of McCreadies. “But when Q8 was withdrawing from the area it spurred me into looking for a better deal.
In recent times Gulf's UK network has been boosted with the signing of several high-volume sites secured from major brands whilst McCreadies is at the opposite end of the spectrum. As Steve White, Area Manager for Gulf Retail explains, "McCreadies is a small, rural site located on the B1022, near Tiptree in Essex.
Its core business is from local resident, who rely on it for groceries, fuels and general provisions. Although it only pumps 11,000 litres each week it is an integral part of the local community and we are proud that it is now Gulf supplied," said Steve.
"Over 20 years, Bob has made McCreadies into the personable site that it is today. He is a great character and has a brilliant rapport with his customers, both the regulars and new unsuspecting drivers who are met with his charm and friendly banter. He is one of the happiest blokes I have ever met and this is obviously reflected in the success of his forecourt."
