Barrington Filling Station
The Cotswolds is known more for natural beauty and distinctive yellow oolitic limestone than its array of Gulf-liveried service stations.
Nevertheless, the distinctive blue and orange colours are becoming a feature of the landscape as more and more rural sites switch to the brand.
Barrington Filling Station near Burford – co-owned and operated by Don Evason - recently became the tenth site in the locality to go Gulf after 18 years with Shell.
“We felt that the site needed an update and a fresh, new look,” explains Don. “We are not people to make knee jerk reactions, we enjoy continuity, but whilst Shell was interested in renewing the agreement, Gulf offered a much stronger customer-supplier relationship.
“Talking with Gulf is easy and immediate, with Shell it often felt like we had to book an appointment.”
