Gulf adds new batch of sites
Gulf Retail has signed five more sites around the country to add to its stable of dealers. The forecourts, all independents run by different owners, have recently opened under Gulf or are due to open before the year-end. Two of the sites are in Fife, Scotland - Dairsie Autopoint, Main Street, Dairsie, and Fife East Port Garage, Cupar Road, Newburgh.The others are Warboys Garage, 13 Mill Street, Gamlingay, Sandy, Bedfordshire, Rutters Garage, Salop Street, Ridgenorth, and Newton Hill Garage, Leeds Road, Newton Hill, Wakefield.
Matt Purcell, who runs Newton Hill Garage with his parents Gordon and Jean Purcell and his wife Sarah, says: "We have owned the business for 30 years and always look to move with the times. As an independent forecourt operator and a business at the core of the community, we have to constantly be on our toes and the decision to change fuel supplier was made for the good of the company and ultimately our customers."
"Now we are looking closely at our shop to examine ways of improving layouts and increasing product lines. It's all about improving the service levels for the motorist and with so many local service stations going out of business it is important that we are in tune with our customers and prepared to make decisions now for the long term future."
Newton Hill Garage is one of the largest Gulf sites in West Yorkshire with six double fuel pumps selling 4.2 million litres annually.
Keith Jewers, director of Gulf Retail, says: "Gulf is constantly reviewing its dealer package, and we're still on the look out for more retailers to move across to the Gulf brand."
