2005
Gulf Oil International entered a two year, two car partnership with Paul Belmondo Racing, the French sportscar team owned by ex-F1 driver Paul Belmondo and industrialist/racer Claude-Yves Gosselin.
Racing the Courage 65 in the lightweight LMP2 category, the 500bhp, three-litre, V8 Mecachrome-Ford engined sports prototype competed in the Le Mans Endurance Series and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The cars proved to be front runners in their class with the most notable achievement a podium double (second and third in class) at the 2005 Le Mans 24 Hours.
