1994

After a 19-year absence, Gulf Oil made its comeback at Le Mans with its favourite son', sportscar legend and five-times winner Derek Bell at the wheel of a Kremer Racing Porsche K8.

The announcement and build-up captured the imagination of all sports car aficionados and unprecedented media coverage was generated across Europe.

The Kremer K8 Spyder open-cockpit racer, starting from the first row on the grid, led the race during the first lap but would eventually finish in sixth place.
