2008

Gulf Retail takes one of the major honours in the prestigious Forecourt Trader of the Year Awards at the Hilton Hotel in London's Park Lane.

Facing strong competition from BP and Conoco, Gulf wins the coveted Oil Company Initiative of the Year award for its in store shops programme, enabling forecourt owners to improve shop turnovers and profits for a minimal outlay.

Throughout 2008, 15 Gulf branded service stations more than doubled profitability following the redevelopment of their forecourt shops.

Keith Jewers, Director, Gulf Retail was on hand to accept the accolade: "These awards are the Oscars of the industry and we are thrilled that our efforts to help dealers develop and improve their business have been recognised in this way."

Gulf announces a two-car, three-year sponsorship programme with Aston Martin Racing. The two DBR9s were raced in Gulf's powder blue and orange racing livery at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours with an incredible first place victory by the Gulf branded 009.
